History

Wood inspires us for five generations. The roots of Nord Arin date back to 1920, when the first of the five family generations involved in woodworking started a carpentry workshop on the spectacular shores of the Bistrita river, North-East Romania.

Ever since, the skills, craftsmanship and passion for furniture making were passed on from father to son, becoming our company’s most important legacy. Today, the grandfather, father and son work together at Nord Arin to take tradition further and reach new heights in the design and manufacturing of sustainable wood furniture, made in Romania.

We love minimalism and simplicity. 102 years later, we are still guided by the vision to do more with less - build long-lasting furniture that enhances the quality of life, with as few resources as possible, in the smartest way possible.

Present

Nord Arin is a privately held family business, designing and producing contemporary solid wood furniture that outlasts trends and can be loved generation after generation.

Design is at the heart of Nord Arin. We let ourselves inspired by imperfect details from nature, vernacular architecture, fine arts and heritage objects. And while we rely heavily on high-end technologies for turning our boldest ideas into reality, we never forget to give that unique human touch and emotion to each piece that leaves our furniture factory. Our approach to furniture making combines handcrafting with the most advanced machinery and software.

We're a furniture maker known for putting quality and sustainability first, both when we produce Nord Arin brand and private label. We only use sustainably sourced Romanian hardwood, often mixed with other noble materials such as brass, stone, glass, or recycled materials. On our furniture, one can find the most precious oak wood harvested from the Carpathian Mountains, the finest natural oak or ash veneers, as well as eco-friendly finishes and coatings from best-in-class suppliers.

”I grew up surrounded by wood, in a family that turned woodworking into the mission of their lives. My dream is to bring the authenticity of wood into people's homes around the world through inspirational design and timeless stories. Our homes are about emotions and this is exactly what I envision for the furniture produced in the Nord Arin factory: not only look flawless, but also create a unique feeling, age beautifully over decades and be produced with environmental consciousness.”
